december- Clarise Reichley

if you sit still enough

in a meditation

of december decaying leaves

and watch the maturing sky

aging into a night of

cold,

dry

cityscape,

you can hear the wings

of the crows

that nest in the desolate trees,

brooding,

disrupting the gasoline air

and stirring winds

with oily feathers.
